Construction and Industrial Accidents
- I repair equipment at a dry cleaning business. I was working at one location on the second floor where the clothes conveyor system goes. There are openings in the second story floor where the conveyer runs. A contractor doing work at the location a week or two earlier had removed the guardrails protecting the floor openings to do work in that location. I fell through the floor opening and fractured my back. The earlier contractor did not reinstall the guardrails before he left. I have been told that the other contractor has no insurance and assets -- it was a fly by night operation.. The owner of the dry cleaner is telling my boss that he did not know that the rails had been removed and not replaced. Do I have a case here?
- I drive a delivery truck. I regularly deliver products to a large chain restaurant at a loading dock in the rear of the building. I slipped off the loading dock because it was greasy from a prior delivery. I was seriously injury and cannot return to work. Do I have a case?
- My husband was hurt at a construction site. He is a sheet metal worker. His boss says that we cannot sue because of worker's compensation. Is this true?

- I was attacked and bitten by a dog. What are my rights?
- I have two Dobermans which I bought from a well-known breeder/kennel.When they grew up, they were very sweet and friendly, but I could not control them when I would walk them together, so I brought them back to the kennel for a 10 day obedience school. The dogs stayed at the kennel during this time. When I got the dogs back, they would growl at me and they seemed constantly angry. Then, one of the dogs attacked me very badly when I made a routine correction, and he could have killed me. I can tell that something was done during the training which changed the temperament of my dogs and that this is what caused the attack. The people at the kennel deny that they did anything wrong, and they refuse to take any responsibility or to help me with the very large medical expenses which I have. Can you do anything for me?
- I was bitten by a dog which ran through "invisible fence" type of system that goes around the perimeter of my neighbor's yard. The dog would usually run up to the edge of the lawn and stop because of an electric shock that the dog would get with the invisible fence. My neighbor tells me that the fence was "on" and he cannot understand how or why the dog got passed it. Is there anything I can do even though the neighbor says that his fence was on?
