The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Bravo Sports issued a joint recall of over 150,000 Pogo Sticks.  Specifically, the following models are being recalled:

  • Disney Hannah Montana Pogo Stick
  • Disney/Pixar Toy Story Cruising Cool Pogo Stick
  • Disney/Pixar Cars Pogo Stick
  • Disney Princess Pogo Stick
  • Disney Fairies Cruising Cool Pogo Stick

The pogo sticks have Disney labels between the handlebars. The manufacturing date codes are: 01/01/2009-022CO and 11/30/2010-022CO. These codes can be found on a label on the stem of the pogo stick near the foot pedals. They were sold at Target, ToysRUs, Burlington Coat Factory, Kmart and Kohls.com in 2009 through 2011.

The problems associated with these products are the premature failure of the bottom rubber tip as well as handlebar failure.   Among the over 80 reports of problems with these sticks, there have been 5 reports of injuries.  One child is reported to have cracked her skull.  Other children have suffered severe injury to teeth.
