Car and truck accidents happen all the time in Pennsylvania. When motor vehicle accidents occur on highways, such as I-95, they often result in serious injuries or fatalities.
Yesterday afternoon, there was a serious multi-vehicle accident that occurred on I-95 in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, just south of Philadelphia. Three vehicles were involved in the accident, and one of them overturned. Sadly, one person was killed in the serious crash. The multi-vehicle accident is currently under investigation. *Source: www.6abc.com (1 dead in crash on I-95 Southwest Philadelphia)
Just last month, a NJ woman was also killed in a car accident on I-95, near the Woodhaven Road exit in Bensalem, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Witnesses told PA state troopers that an unidentified driver of a black sedan cut off the NJ woman and slammed its brakes right in front of the woman's jeep. The 44 year old woman swerved out of the way, which caused her to hit a guard rail. As a result, her car flipped multiple times. The woman was taken to a hospital, but died shortly after. The driver of the black sedan didn't stop and left the scene of the accident. *Source: philadelphia.cbslocal.com (Police: NJ Woman Killed In I-95 Crash In Bensalem)

Families of deceased PA car accident victims are often at a loss and heartbroken over the loss of their loved ones. Though no financial recovery can equal the loss of a loved one, the only way families of deceased car accident victims may get justice is through civil lawsuits, where they may receive financial compensation. This type of lawsuit is called a wrongful death lawsuit. Family members may be compensated for the damages they incurred as a result of their loved one's death. However, only certain family members can file wrongful death lawsuits in PA, such as spouses, children or parents.
Some of the damages recoverable in a wrongful death lawsuit may include:
In addition, family members may file survival actions on behalf of their deceased loved one, and these actions include claims the deceased victim may have arising from the accident leading to their death. For example, if the deceased victim was in a hospital for 3 months prior to his death, damages may be recovered for the pain and suffering the deceased victim endured during that time.
