On May 27, 2010, two men were killed in a car accident on Route 33 in Lower Nazareth Township in Northampton County, Pennsylvania.  A man driving a sedan crossed the center line of Route 33 and struck a man on a motorcycle.  Both were declared dead at the scene.  On May 4, 2010, there was another fatal car accident in North Whitehall Township, also in Northampton County.  In that accident, a young man crossed the center line on Route 873 and struck two women, causing a head-on collision that killed both women.  These types of accidents are unfortunately, much more common than we all think.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2008 there were over 34,000 fatal car accidents in the U.S, and over 26,000 people died in fatal car accidents.
