Child injured duirng field day event

In this case, our client was a 16 year-old boy. He was a student at a parochial school in suburban Philadelphia. He suffered catastrophic injuries in a school yard accident during a field day event. Our client was rendered quadriplegic as a result of the accident, and faces a lifetime of future medical needs. We were able to obtain a confidential settlement of this case prior to trial.

This was a very difficult case in that the defendant claimed that it had no liability at all due to the fact that our client was injured when he dove into a shallow body of water. We were able to successfully distinguish the facts of this case from the long line of cases which bar recovery for injuries resulting from a dive into shallow water.
