A: It depends on the area of the fall and the accumulation of ice in that area. Under Pennsylvania law, you must be able to show either of two theories-Hills and Ridges or Isolated Patches of Ice. Under either theory, there must be a thorough investigation of the weather not only on the day of your fall, but in the days before the fall and there must be an examination of the property where you fell. Factors such as slope, grade, possible defects on the property must all be analyzed.
