Practice Areas

My son was injured during his high school football practice and now has permanent brain injury. He told me that he was hit hard by a teammate and felt disoriented but was told to get back out on the field. He then got hit multiple times after that and was finally told to sit down. Is there anything we can do for him?

A:

You may be able to bring a case on your son's behalf against the school and the coaches.  For example, if your son was sent back to practice after sustaining a concussion without a proper medical evaluation being performed, the school and coaches may be held liable because of their negligence.

This is one of the many possible situations where the school and coaches may be held liable.  Head injuries and concussions sustained while playing football cannot be taken lightly. Your son's life may be significantly impacted from his brain injury, and he should not have to suffer because of someone else's negligence.

We would need more information regarding his practices and injury to properly assess the case.  Therefore, it is vital that you speak to an experienced Pennsylvania sports injury lawyer about your son's case.
