Serious And Fatal Car Accidents On The Roosevelt Boulevard In Philadelphia

The Roosevelt Boulevard in Philadelphia has been known for tragic car accidents and pedestrian-car accidents over the years.  It is also known as one of the most dangerous streets in Philadelphia.  Drivers are often driving at a high rate of speed, which often leads to serious, if not fatal, motor vehicle accidents.

Most recently, during the early morning hours of this past Sunday, there was another serious car accident on the Boulevard.  A car struck another car in the southbound lanes of the Boulevard near 9th Street.  The collision caused the second car to hit a tree and a guardrail.  The man in that car was taken to Temple University Hospital and is currently in critical condition.  *Source: www.nbcphiladelphia.com (Man in Critical After Crash on Boulevard)

Drivers who are at fault and cause car accidents may face civil lawsuits.  Car accident victims may sue the drivers in a Philadelphia car accident lawsuit.  Claims of negligence against the drivers may include:

  • operating their vehicles in a careless, reckless and negligent manner;
  • operating their vehicles too closely to the victim’s vehicle;
  • failing to use due care under the circumstances;
  • operating their vehicles at an excessive rate of speed;
  • operating their vehicles without keeping a proper lookout ahead of the presence of others upon the roadway; and/or
  • violating Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code provisions.

The injured drivers, pedestrians or passengers may recover the following damages from the at-fault drivers:

  • past/future medical expenses,
  • past/future lost wages,
  • pain and suffering, and/or
  • out of pocket expenses.

Pennsylvania car accident law can be very confusing and a careful analysis of the injured victims’ car insurance policies is necessary in order to properly evaluate the case.  For example, insured injured drivers who have limited tort on their insurance policies may not be able to sue for pain and suffering depending on their injuries.  For a detailed discussion on limited tort in PA, see Pennsylvania's Limited Tort - When You Can Sue For Pain And Suffering

Therefore, if you were injured in a car or truck accident in Philadelphia or the surrounding suburbs of Pennsylvania, it is important to talk to a PA car accident injury lawyer.  Call Daniel J. O’Brien to schedule a free consultation.  877.944.8396
