According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Honeywell Portable Electric Heaters have been recalled due to a burn hazard.
The following model numbers from the Honeywell Select Series portable electric heaters are affected by the recall:
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that Chariot child bicycle trailers have been recalled due to potential detachment.
The recall affects approximately 70,000 bicycle trailer conversion kits and 44,000 bicycle trailers manufactured by Thule Child Transport Systems Ltd., d/b/a Chariot Carriers, based in Calgary, Canada.
The danger lies in the hitch mechanism on the bicycle trailer breaking or cracking. This can cause the trailer and the bike to become disconnected, making the child inside vulnerable to injuries.
There have been 24 reports worldwide -- with 3 in the U.S. -- of incidences regarding the bicycle trailer detaching. Thankfully, there have been no confirmed reports of injury as of this posting.
These trailers were sold at bicycle shops in the United States and online from a variety of websites. The Chariot bicycle trailers were sold between December 2005 and August 2010, ranging from $400 to $925. The bicycle trailer conversion kits were sold between October 2002 and August 2011, ranging from $40 to $70.
Consumers are advised to cease using the product and call Chariot Carriers in order to receive a repair kit at no cost.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) reports that approximately 181,000 children ages 15 and under were treated for toy-related injuries in 2010. While that number is still considered to be high, stronger safety rules have helped lead to safer toys.
Since the year 2008, there has been a continuous decline in toy recalls, a result of greater safety measures being taken by retailers and manufacturers of children products.
Some of the safety efforts have included:
There are certain items that should be avoided when it comes to toy shopping including balloons, magnets, small parts on toys, and riding toys. In fact, non-motorized scooters continue to cause the most injuries. All of this should be kept in mind as you prepare to do your holiday shopping.

In a news report from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Nordica USA is accepting a $214,000 civil penalty after failing to report defective skis. If you have been injured from a defective product, a Pennsylvania defective product attorney can help.
This settlement stems from claims that expressed Nordica USA purposely failed to report a safety defect with the XBi ALU skis binding plates, which could break or crack leading to a fall hazard.
In the fall of 2008, Nordica USA was notified of about 200 reports pertaining to the skis either cracking or breaking. However, the company failed to disclose this information to the CPSC and continues to deny that they knowingly violated the law in any capacity.
Eventually (in Feb. 2009), a recall on the skis was issued and there have been no reports so far of injuries. However, federal law mandates that manufacturers, distributors and retailers contact CPSC as soon as they are aware of any defect in a product which could lead to a serious or fatal injury.
If you were injured by a defective product that caused you or a loved one serious harm, you should discuss your case with a Pennsylvania defective product attorney.
