2 Die in Fatal Hatboro Crash that Leads to House Fire

July 12, 2011 - Hatboro, Penn. - In a tragic domino chain of events, a van careened off of the road in Upper Moreland Township, hitting a parked car and then slamming into a house, located at 3150 Byberry Road in Hatboro, early Tuesday morning.

The fatal Hatboro crash ignited a fire that engulfed the house with flames so hot that nearby trees were singed and the neighboring house's siding melted from the heat of the blaze.

Due to the fire, police were unable to identify the 2 deceased victims in the van. The Montgomery County coroner has only been able to determine that the driver was a female and the passenger was an adult male.

All 5 residents of the house that caught fire were safely evacuated from the house, which was considered "a total loss."

Byberry Road between Orangemans and Warminster was shut down after police arrived around 2 a.m. but had reopened by noon the next day.
