PA and NJ Personal Injury Lawyers Announce the "NO FEE FOR KIDS" Program

The personal injury lawyers at White and Williams, LLP have started a unique program in which they charge no legal fees for representing children 12 years of age or younger who are injured in automobile accidents. "All three of us are parents with healthy, happy kids. We looked for a way to somehow say 'thank you' for this gift, and the 'No Fee for Kids' program was what we came up with", said Dan O'Brien, the senior lawyer in the firm's personal injury group. O'Brien also explained that he has been a youth baseball coach for many years, and that this program was also a way of repaying all the joy he's gotten from coaching kids.

The no fee program applies only to auto accident cases, and only to cases that are settled, with the OK of the parents, before a lawsuit is filed. If the family is forced to file a lawsuit, O'Brien says he will charge a greatly reduced fee of 25%, even if the case is tried to verdict.

Personal injury cases involving children cannot be settled without a judge approving the settlement, even if settled without filing a lawsuit. O'Brien will go to court to obtain court approval for no fee as well.

The lawyers involved in this program all work out of the Fayette Street, Conshohocken office of White and Williams LLP, a large Center City, Philadelphia based firm. The lawyers participating in the No Fee for Kids program are O'Brien, Louisa Chen and Julia Lee. O'Brien commented: "Children are living proof that God loves us. We should all try to do little things that show we appreciate how lucky and blessed we are. I hope more lawyers and other business people start similar programs for children".
