In the largest baby stroller recall in history, Graco is recalling nearly 1.5 million baby strollers because of child injuries connected with the defective product. The point of concern is an uncovered hinge on the canopy of the stroller which can cause injury to a child's fingers. There is a repair kit available for the stroller, but some children have already sustained injuries because of the defective Graco strollers.
So far, there have been 7 reported injuries associated with the strollers, with 2 of them resulting in a child's fingertips being amputated. This massive stroller recall comes on the heels of yet another recall by Graco of their Harmony high chairs. There were 464 reports concerning the high chairs either tipping over or children falling out of them.
Unfortunately, defective children's products of this type are nothing new. Recalls on defective products-especially when they involve children's products-always should be taken seriously.
If you own a product that has been recalled you should stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer about what to do next. Most product recalls involve returning the defective product, or sending for a repair kit from the manufacturer.
If your child has been seriously injured because of a defective product, such as the recalled Graco products, then you may be eligible to file for a product liability case to recover any expenses related to your child's injuries.
