The following model numbers from the Honeywell Select Series portable electric heaters are affected by the recall:
HZ-420;
HZ-430;
HZ-440; and
5 digit date codes, with the last 2 digits being 11.
The recall stems from the internal housing of the electric heaters detaching. This includes the heating element and circuitry, along with the fan. The detachment could lead to a consumer suffering a burn.
These electric heaters were sold nationwide at Walmart, Meijer, and Best Buy stores between July 2011 and December 2011. They were cost was between $50 and $70.
Consumers are advised to immediately unplug their heaters and stop using them. To obtain a full refund, consumers should contact the manufacturer, Kaz USA Inc.
