Pedestrian Struck and Killed on Sidewalk in Philadelphia

December 22, 2011 – Philadelphia, Pa. – According to CBS Philly News, a man, in his 50’s, walking to visit his family on Sunday, December 18, was struck and killed by an automobile.

Reports indicate that the victim was walking along East Prince Street sidewalk around 6 p.m., when a mini-van ran him over causing his death.

Eye-witnesses told police that 2 suspects fled the scene. Local police have taken a man into custody in connection with this hit-and-run but no charges have been formally filed at this point. It is unknown whether or not drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
