Popular Blender Recalled For Causing Potential Laceration Hand Injuries To Consumers

Posted on Sep 17, 2013

Recalled blender| PA NJ Defective Product Injury LawyersA popular high performance blender, Vitamix, was recalled last month due to a laceration hazard.  About 165,000 units in the United States and 4,300 units in Canada were recalled.  The blender is a 64-ounce Low-Profile container with blade part number 103208 A and blade date codes 03-12 through 07-13.  These blades were in models 7500, Professional Series 300 and Professional Series 750.  The blade on the blender can potentially break, creating a laceration hazard to the consumers using it.

The Vitamix blenders were sold at major retailers nationwide and online at vitamix.com from April 2012 to August 2013 for about $529 to $749.  The blenders were also sold at consumer trade shows and other retail outlets as well.

When food processors and blenders are recalled, one of the common reasons is because they are defective, i.e. the blender or processor is poorly designed.  That means even when the blenders are used as exactly as intended, they are still dangerous because there is a design flaw that can potentially injure users.

When consumers are injured by poorly designed products such as kitchen blenders, they often have a products liability case against the manufacturer of the product.
