Recent Whole Foods Recall - PA & NJ Food Allergy Lawyer

Posted on Feb 16, 2015

Recently, Whole Foods Market recalled approximately 33,000 pounds of ready to eat food products which may contain peanuts.

The contaminated foods were shipped to stores in at least 12 states, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  Items such as prepared salads, burritos, dips, seasoned meat (chicken, turkey), tacos and other seasoned items may contain a spice contaminated with peanuts.  The contaminated items were sold from January 14, 2015 to February 6, 2015.  Whole Foods Market stores also posted signage in the stores to notify customers of this recall. *To see a complete list of affected items, visit http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/product-recalls.

So far, there have been no reports of consumers suffering allergic reactions to the peanuts in the items, and these items have been pulled from the store shelves.

Whole Foods is a very popular food market and perceived by many consumers as a "healthier" food store than other major grocery store chains.  It offers numerous organic products and meat products coming from grass fed animals.  Many families striving to eat clean or have members with food allergies often shop at Whole Foods.

If you know someone who shops at Whole Foods and has a peanut or nut allergy or has a family member with a peanut or nut allergy, please pass this information to them to prevent accidental exposure.

If you or a loved one suffered an allergic reaction to the recalled item, you need to report it to Whole Foods Market by calling 512-477-5566, ext. 20060.
